I sort of unfairly neglect dining rooms. It's not a conscious decision, but I guess because I've never had an apartment large enough to have it's own dining room, and rarely entertain, that I always sort of just passed them by. In our new apartment we don't have a separate dining room, but there is a "nook" large enough to seat 6, which may encourage us to have more friends over for dinner. There are definitely a few dining rooms here that I could see myself in....
adore, adore, adore those chairs. gorgeous...
what do you think of the black and white scheme going on in this one?
This one is more modern than I usually go for but I really like how effortless and streamlined it looks.

The Anglo-Indian inspired chairs of the first photo ARE amazing. Just think, the original 17th-19th C chairs would have been inlaid in ivory and precious stones .. now they are inlaid with bone and seashells. If you have a small nook, something like these may take too much visual space ... but will look very fabulous!
These are all amazing spaces! I love the idea of using Panton chairs in a dining room.
Thanks so much for featuring my dining room on your lovely blog! It was a very fun project for me and I'm still loving it. :)
Absolutely beautiful photos. I'm hoping o have a dining room reveal soon, and I am definitely bookmarkng this one!

I love your blog and look forward to it every day in my inbox! Was so excited by today's post not only because I'm desperately in search of the perfect dining room chairs and you featured so many great options, but because the table in the last picture came from my store, Red Barn Mercantile, and belongs to one of my friends! What a small world! That was one our most favorite pieces and I love how Emily put contemporary chairs with such a rustic table. All excellent choices... as usual!
I hate to see you missing out on one of lifes pleasures, entertaining friends in your home. I dont think they would mind that you dont have a formal dining room. Throw some pillows on the floors, a cloth over the coffee table and you have a dining room. I hope you host your first party very soon.
I loved the one with the chalkboard! you could also find some more options here.. http://thepurplebow.blogspot.com/2011/07/breakfast-nook-ideas.html
Good luck!
good luck with the move! and welcome to the area...xoxo
I love the transparent dining chairs from Adore Home Magazine and the fiberglass white dining chairs from Twentysomething Test Dummies, I found the transparent chairs here for $140, not bad!
