Interior Designer Portfolio

Craving a little luxury lately? Me too. Let the interiors of Timothy Whealon make you feel a little better...

Love the blue painting with the red poppies. What a welcoming sight to come home to.

I would pay to be able to spend a weekend just reading books

Money may not buy happiness, but it can buy Southern exposures...

I wouldn't mind spending an evening in this tub

mmm...scrambled eggs

Opinions wanted! What do you think about these?

I don't have a flat screen TV. But concealing them and/or stylishly displaying them certainly seems to be a hot topic in the interior design world. Well, here's one option I haven't seen before, and being that most computers come standard with these, I'm surprised. The idea is to turn your flat screen into a piece of art with the designs of Detour Design. They call it detour moves, and it's pretty much a download or dvd that you pop in and play while you aren't watching TV. Below are a few stills of my favorites. What do you think about this idea?

This last shot is from the Fornasetti moves collection, animations based on the work of Piero Fornasetti, which I think are really stunning.

Win gorgeous vintage/indie clothes of your choosing!

So, it was recently brought to my attention that Pronto partnered with indie-inspired e-store, Modcloth.com to give away a Valentine's Day Outfit.

All you have to do to participate is create a list on Pronto.com of your "Dream V-Day outfit." Select products you like from Modcloth.com and then tell why you like them! Find out all the details here!

On Feb 12th, blogger Gala Darling will pick the winner of their dream outfit. It's too fun to pass up.

Check out my Dream V-day Outfit at Pronto!

My three sisters and I are having a v-day party at my parent's house. Their house is an old-school rancher, so I wanted a retro look. The Amber Road Coat and Holloway Dress in Black are a perfect mix of feminine with a high-waisted skirt and over-sized bow. The All Buttoned Up Beret is too adorable, the necklace calls to my childhood sailboat, as the earrings call to my love of nature. The First Lady Peep toes are just plain gorgeous, I love white and the contrasting red heel!

Join the fight to save Domino!

You walk (ok, speed walk), to the mailbox. Today is the day you usually open it to find the new issue of Domino! The cover-- so enticing, so exciting! What is inside this month? Gorgeous pictures and products! Oh, the glossy therapy of all the serene homes! You force myself to wait to open it (maybe a teensy peek) till you're nice and cozy on the couch and free from any potential distractions. Mug of vanilla chai and lemon cake in hand, let the bliss begin!

But wait...there is no Domino in the mailbox! Welcome to reality. Domino is folding. Sad, I know, that's why we need to join together to save it!

Join these modern day Dames in their crusade.

One blog is Save Domino, Betsy C.'s personal crusade.

The other is We Love Domino, brought to you by Kate, former Apartment Therapy Unplggd blogger.

Organization inspiration and tips

When it comes to pretty and practical organization, nobody brings it like Martha!

Her kitchen

A shelf over a door creates instant extra storage.

I love the homey feel of this office

If your fellow inhabitants don't really believe in sorting mail, atleast you can avoid stacks of it be designating an entryway organizer for everyone.

I love this medicine cabinet, just find some thin metal sheets at a hardware store, some magnetic containers (these are very popular and can be found at places like Bed, Bath, and Beyond.) Just make sure that if you mount anything inside the door that you can close it.

cylindrical vase= snazzy t.p. holder

we really need a boot tray...

A simple shelf that folds down is a great way to extend window sill surfaces. *tip, this is also a great idea to ad on counter space *

mount grow light underneath a shelf, and you can have flowers year round.

these following images are just for gratuitous prettiness...

If only I had such great light!

Lovely bedrooms for lovely sleep

I'm sleepy today and have a headache that makes me feel like my molars are going to fall out. Looking out the window, I can't even see the Chelsea Piers right outside my building, due to the horrific blizzard outside. These pics remind me of the heaven that is my bed, waiting at home for me. Hopefully you are feeling better than me!

love the ledge above the bed

hmm...I might be utilizing this painted headboard idea...

oh...if only it were Saturday!

Love this reader's bedroom!

Love the salon style pictures, the mosquito net, the blue shutters, and the pup!

A small favor please...

Hi guys -
As you may know, my family's dog, Cody, died a week before Christmas. He was diagnosed with lymphoma in November, and he only completed one round of chemo before he left us just a month later. He was only 8 years old. Lymphoma did not show up in any of his tests until it was too late, and he had dropped from 45 lbs to 25lbs. This loss devastated me and my family, and I cannot imagine the pain of families who have children or loved ones with this terrible, terrible cancer.

I am raising funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) as a participant in their Team In Training program and I'm asking you to help by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. I will be training over the next six months to participate in a marathon (26 miles) as a runner for the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. The marathon I am running in is on June 20th in Anchorage, Alaska. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

Please use the link in this post to donate online quickly and securely plus learn more about my progress. You will receive a confirmation of your donation by email and I will be notified as soon as you make your donation.

Donate here:

Each donation helps accelerate finding a cure for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. More than 823,000 Americans are battling these blood cancers. I am hoping that my participation in Team In Training will help bring them hope and support.

On behalf of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, thank you very much for your support and consideration. I really do greatly appreciate your generosity. If you have any questions at all, email me at ashley.j.w@gmail.com

Best,
Ashley

P.S. I would appreciate it if you would forward this post ( http://decorology.blogspot.com/2009/02/small-favor-please.html ) to as many people as you can who may be interested and encourage them to donate as well. Thanks again.

My sweet boy after his first round of chemo. He died three weeks later, on Dec. 18th.

Happy and healthy at the beach this summer.

The day we brought him home, at eight weeks old. He would be turning 9 on June 2, 2009.

Again, any amount helps - and sorry to bring such a personal matter to the blog.

Interior design serenity for a monday afternoon

Monday's are tough - but looking at these rooms are a good way to relax a little. It is 4pm - so home is not too far away!

Love the blue on the walls, and the folding doors as a headboard are really pretty too.

nice salon style wall - I also love that there isn't too much matchy-matchiness going on.

A nice and bright little home office alcove. *super jealous of the sawhorse desk!!*

I'm not a fan of the cowhide rugs - sorry, I grew up seeing those rugs walking around outside my window as a kid... Regardless, this studio space is really well done. I love the fireplace, and the partition of sliding screen panels.
