The above image is her home in the opening scene

After the store goes out of business I noticed her studio was rearranged, and was filled with objects from her shop. I like the bed placed at a diagonal as it is below.
I love her headboard and quilts

Her kitchen is really sweet - who'd think to put a little lamp in the kitchen?

Love this apartment- how it looks like a REAL person lives there (like in Nora Ephron's most recent film- "Julie and Julia"- Julie's apartment is similar- you would feel so cozy eating one of her dinners)
Awww...yes, I love that movie and the apartment is just too sweet! The bedding is so plush and inviting!
(Just found your blog on Canadian House and Home and love your style!)

This is one of my favourite movies. I love the style of her store, her apartment and her personal style! Beautiful film!
I love this apartment. I wish I could live in it!
I own this movie (on VHS I think!) and have watched it a few times simply to take notes about her apartment. All of the interiors in the movie seem fully realized and are as important to the storyline as the actual people characters. Joe Fox's apartment is pretty great too, as is his giant book superstore that eventually puts Kathleen Kelly's charming shop out of business. And one of the best lines in the movie comes from Joe's father who comments, when his new, much younger wife has redesigned his office, that she studied decorating at Caesar's Palace. Thanks for the fun post!
I luv this film. I never noticed how her apt was rearranged!
Just lovely.

I have seriously seen this movie upwards of 400 times. I watched every night without fail for about 2 years. I have been in love with this apartment for years! Thanks for showcasing it!
This is one of my all time favourite movies. I love anything with Meg Ryan in it and when she teams up with Tom Hanks - magic. I introduced it to my 9 yr old daughter a few weeks ago and it's still fantastic. Thanks for taking us through Kathleen's lovely apartment frame by frame. It really is a cosy little spot.
I love this movie, and yes I dreamed about that apartment after first seeing it. It is fantastic. : )

This is one of my favorite movies, but I never took the time to admire her apartment that closely. It really is beautiful and looks like it's full of personality.
What a great urban cottage! Wish I could stay there during a visit to NY.
Doesn't it just look so comfy. And I think I was especially fond of her appartment after she said she loved daisies. They're my favorite flower too.
The best interiors are timeless but they have to take their inspiration from somewhere it all started. Too much for my little brain to cope with ;)
I love everything in Kathleen's apartment. It feels so real. I also have a small lamp in my kitchen. I live in an apartment and have no window in my kitchen, so I need that little lamp. It is a nice touch. Thanks for showcasing this great apartment.
This whole movie was shot in my neighborhood (I pass the little cafe where she was supposed to meet him the first time ALL the time!)
i LOVE it... it reminds me of my bachelorette pad! i might change the couch though, to something less floral. that wouldn't stop me from living there & loving it though!
