Your pet deserves a beautiful home too! (and I have a holiday discount for you!)

All pet owners know the tremendous role pets can play in one's life. So I thought I might mention them for a change by featuring a unique solution to the typical dog crate. Dogs naturally like to "den-up," and their den is a safe haven for them and a place where they can achieve a little much-needed privacy from time to time. However, most families end up putting crates in laundry rooms, basements, or garages, because they usually aren't the most attractive piece in the house. However, a little Seattle company called DenHaus has decided to do something about this issue. DenHaus offers a line of crates that your pet will feel comfortable and safe in, and that you will love the look of! You can opt for something more traditional, the "TownHaus," or something more modern, the "ZenHaus." You can also pick between different sizes and colors.

So the folks over at DenHaus have been gracious enough to offer Decorology readers a $50 discount and free shipping. Just enter DOLOGY at checkout! Go to DenHaus.com.

* On a personal side note, the holidays are a very stressful and busy time. Don't forget about your pet and that people visiting and the frenzy is stressful for them as well. Once you notice and change, be it in behavior or a physical change, take your pet to the vet right away! I just found out this week that my 8 year old Australian Shepherd has Lymphoma, and as you can imagine my whole family is devastated, and the holidays will not be the same. -take care, a.

I love these and just told my husband that I have to have them because although I love having the crates for the dogs, I hate to look at them.

Wow! Any ideas for dark paneling? I am a renter and cannot paint!

I hate the big crates too. Our carpenter removed the shelves of an under counter kitchen cabinet and we hinged the doors to slide back and out of the way. The local Petsmart had a selection of metal doggie panels... ours had a door integrated into the panel. If it sounds cumbersome, it wasn't. It looked great, and was copied by so many dog loving friends. Our sweet dog Molly loved to go in there. (We have since moved to a new house and don't have the cabinet space to spare.

Oh no---I'm so sorry to hear about your pup. But I know he (she?) will be so happy to have cuddles and snuggles from you.

And thanks for the thoughts on how the holidays can be just as stressful for animals as for people---easy to forget but it's so true!

I am so, so, sorry to hear about your dog. Our bulldog Levi is basically our child, so I have the utmost sympathy for your situation. I hope everything works out.

I nearly died when I saw that little Pug in the first photo - what a fabulous and whimsical yet still so practical idea xx

Haha! That's awesome. My mom's dog, Mr. Pickles, sits in this little space inside the wrought iron that makes up the stand of her kitchen table. These tables would be perfect.
