Industrial style furniture

I love Pottery Barn's new Benchwright Dining Table, as I'm a sucker for furniture designers who "appreciate wood's character." The table is lovely, however there is nothing like the real thing. My parents' home is almost fully furnished in pieces passed down, and even though a lot of them are reproductions, they're beautiful because it was life that rewarded them with character, not some strategically placed dents and dings. On the flip side, at $5,800 for the real thing, Pottery Barn's industrial-style dining seems affordable!

Mmm...love the raw, timeworn look of industrial pieces. I especially love the idea of finding old library bookshelves and museum display cases that have this sort of industrial edge to them- a great way to work the look into your home and to imagine the history behind the pieces too!

Sometimes universities have furniture sales and get rid of old laboratory furniture for crazy low prices...worth keeping an eye open for!

PB's table is circled, highlighted and posted throughout my house (think hubby realizes I want it?) it is just the BEST table ever!! Love the pieces you've showcased here. That office chair is to die for.
